“A dog can’t think that much about what he’s doing, he just does what feels right.” - Barbara Kingsolver
When you look into a dog's eyes, there's a lot you won't see. You won't see expectations or disappointment, hatred or envy, sadness or spite. They don't judge, hold grudges, or remember all the stuff you did that was less than kind.
A dog just loves, no matter what you do, they just love.
Teddy is no exception to this universal canine law. I had heard stories of this incredible pup, seen pictures of him, but it wasn't until I met him that I knew how awesome of a dog he was.
When I climbed into the car, at first Teddy was a bit uncertain, as if he was thinking. Who is this unknown human getting in the car with MY human. He glared at me, "that's right, MY human." But after a few minutes, when he realized I wasn't a threat, he calmed down considerably, sticking his tongue out and staring down cars out the window.
Just look at these eyes!
We took a drive down to Forest River Park for sunshine and playtime. All the sights and smells made Teddy too excited, and he bounded around, sniffing everything, diving into the FREEZING water. Seeing how excited he was just made the experience that much better, his mom and I spent the time intermittently yelling his name and falling over in a heap of laughter.
So much love. <3
Teddy it was such a joy to meet you. Thank you for showing me how to dive in without thinking, to soak up the sunshine, and be completely in the moment. I hope someday to be more like you.
